Give-a-Bell Campaign

Soaring to the Finish

May 15
deadline for donations

Thanks to many generous donations we've reached and passed our $8500 goal. We now have enough funding to purchase the new 3-octave set of American-made Malmark Handbells!

The initial project was to purchase a new 3-octave set of Malmark handbells for $8500. The purchase amount did not include handbell cases because at that time we believed our new bells would go in our rolling travel cases, and the Whitechapel bells would be stored in smaller storage cases we own. When the rental Malmark bells arrived and we put them in our travel cases, we realized some bells are shaped differently and all do not fit. We let out a barn-own screech! And then made plans to purchase the matching Malmark cases. The total needed for bells and cases is $9950. So...

THANK YOU-hoo-hoo!! [Sorry - couldn't resist] for your amazing generosity that got us beyond the $8500 level. $9300 is pledged as of today, April 19, just $700 shy of the total to buy cases. The momentum gives us great hope to have funding to reburbish some of the older bells so that we can continue to use them to embelish our Musical Minsitry. We look forward to having the Malmarks as our 'main' instruments and to using the Whitechapel bells for 'special effects', or occasions, and for pieces calling for antiphonal ringing (two handbell choirs).

We hope you will consider contributing to the Give-a-Bell Campaign with a donation in any amount. Please make your donations to First Presbyterian Church and mark ‘handbell campaign’ in the memo.
