Stephen Ministry
What is Stephen Ministry?
First Presbyterian's Stephen Ministry is a program that equips lay people to provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to members of our congregation. Stephen Ministers live out God's call to "bear one another's burdens," (Galatians 6:2).
Our Stephen Ministers care for people who are:
† Grieving
† In need of long-term care
† Dying
† Hospitalized
† Experiencing losses as they age
† Going through a life crisis
† Experiencing the death of a spouse, child, parent or other loved one
† Going through a divorce
† Going through a job loss
What do Stephen Ministers do?
Stephen Ministers:
- Maintain confidentiality
- Pray
- Listen
- Share Christ's love
- Explore feelings
- Attend to the caregiving process and leave the results to God

What does the Stephen Ministry logo mean?
The Stephen Series logo symbolizes that we all are broken people and that it is only through the cross of Jesus that we are made whole.
